Easter Letter 2021
Dear friends, beloved brothers and sisters!
Easter – Pascha – Resurrection
For the second year in the row, it is an atypical celebration for us, strange, full of worries and not joyful yet certainly not hopeless. Today, more than ever, we can experience what Jesus Christ has shown us long ago. First comes cross, followed by the resurrection.
Each of us is experiencing our personal daily crosses that life brings us, but these past weeks – months, we are experiencing a cross common to all – a cross that has engulfed the entire world. Not all the faithful will celebrate Pascha inside their churches. It is only now that we realize how much we miss our church community, how much we miss the sacraments, how much we miss praying together. We live in times – as never before – where we celebrate neither in secret, nor in catacombs; we celebrate in our homes with only our immediate family. I believe that each one of us can say that we are experiencing mixed feelings – almost fear – about what will happen to us. Jesus also had mixed feelings on the cross, He also did not know how and when it would all end, yet He believed – He had hope because He Himself brought this hope to the world through His Heavenly Father.
Christ is Risen from the dead, by death He trampled death and to those in the graves, He granted life.
Now is the time of salvation, now is the time of common prayer, now the heavens is opening to us. Completely atypical – without big celebrations in the church – only in small numbers, certainly not as joyous as in previous years – I truly believe it is all the more blessed. Let’s not forget each other, let’s focus on the family, look for what we lost during the hectic “past” and appreciate what we have: each other. Let’s stay in touch, praying together for an early Resurrection – the end of this virus.
God is with us! Who is against us?

Drahí priatelia, milovaní bratia a sestry!
Veľká Noc – Pascha – Vzkriesenie.
Už druhý rok pre nás netypická, zvláštna, plná obáv a nie radostná, no ale určite nie beznádejná. Dnes môžeme ako nikdy predtým zažívať to, čo nám ukázal Ježiš Kristus už dávno. Najprv prichádza kríž a potom nasleduje vzkriesenie.
Každý z nás zažíva svoje každodenné a samostatné kríže, ktoré nám život prináša ale tieto týždne - mesiace, zažívame kríž, ktorý je spoločný – kríž, ktorý pohĺtil celý svet. Nie všetci veriaci budú sláviť Paschu prítomní v chrámoch, kde až teraz si uvedomujeme ako nám chýba spoločenstvo veriacich, ako nám chýbajú sviatosti, ako nám chýba spoločná modlitba. Sme na tom tak - ako nikdy predtým - ani v tajnosti, ani v katakombách ale vo vlastných domovoch s najbližšou rodinou. Verím, že každý z nás môže povedať že sme v zmiešaných pocitoch – takmer v strachu - čo s nami bude. Ježiš mal tiež zmiešané pocity na kríži, tiež nevedel ako a kedy to všetko skončí, ale veril - mal nádej, lebo túto nádej sám priniesol na tento svet cez svojho Nebeského Otca.
Kristus slávne vstal zmrtvych, smrťou smrť premohol a tým čo sú v hroboch život daroval.
Teraz je čas spásy, teraz je čas spoločnej modlitby, teraz sa nebo otvára k nám. Úplne netypicky – bez Veľkých slávností v chráme = iba v malej kapacite, určite nie tak radostne ako po iné roky ale verím, že o to viac požehnanejšie. Nezabúdajme jeden na druhého, venujme sa rodine, hľadajme to, čo sme stratili počas hektickej “minulosti” a vážme si čo máme: Jeden druhého. Buďme v kontakte, modlíme sa spoločne za skoré Vzkriesenie - ukončenie tohoto vírusu.
Boh s nami! Kto proti nám?
Prajem Vám pokojný a Milostivý čas Paschy.
